Zenit Arena (62,000 capacity in football configuration) in St. Petersburg (RUS), built notably to host matches of the 2018 World Cup, was inaugurated on 11/02/2017. It will be definitively delivered, on 31/01/2017, to FK Zenit, its resident club. The stadium was scheduled to be delivered in 2009, and then again in 2016, but investigations for corruption, a change of builder, and development of architecture have all delayed the delivery.

The cost of the construction of the enclosure, which began in 2007, is estimated at €881m, against €615m budgeted at the beginning of the work. The future home of FK Zenit notably has a retractable roof to host concerts and performances, with capacity up to 80,000 seats in this configuration.

The stadium will host the opening match of the 2017 Confederations Cup, between Russia and New Zealand, on 17/06/2017 at 18:00 local time.

  • Zenit Arena will host three group stages matches and a quarter-final of Euro 2020.
