At €172.1m in 2015-16, Leicester City FC (Premier League) posted a turnover of more than 61% than that of Sevilla FC (LaLiga Santander), which generated €106.5m, according to the Deloitte Football Money League 2017 (for Leicester City) and the official figures released by Sevilla FC. The two clubs meet at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán in Sevilla (ESP in the Round of 16 of the 2016-17 Champions League, on Wednesday, 22/02/2017 (kick-off at 20:45 CET).

In 2015-16, when Leicester City won the first English championship in its history, the club finished in 20th place in Europe in terms of total revenue. The club had never before been in the Top 20 of the Deloitte Football Money League. Additionally, in 2015-16 Leicester City recorder the highest turnover in its history. This is also the case, in 2015-16, for Sevilla FC, a season in which the club won its third consecutive Europa League title, and exceeded €100m in turnover for the first time, but, however, still did not manage to integrate the Top 30 clubs in the Deloitte ranking.
