Champions League: in Round of 16, Barça trained 11 players, Real Madrid 10, Napoli and Man City 1

FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) are the club which has trained the most players currently in the squads of the clubs in Round of 16 of the 2016-17 Champions League, according to the weekly newsletter of the CIES Football Observatory, and published on 20/02/2017.

11 players trained in their youth at FC Barcelona, and have played at least one match since the start of the season with a club that has advanced to the knockout stages of the Champions League. Six of these 11 players currently play at Barça in 2016-17, while five play for other clubs. The training centre has placed players at six clubs (in five countries) still competing in the Champions League, another record.

Three other clubs in the knockout stages of this season's Champions League have trained at least 8 players: Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander, 10 players from its academy system), AS Monaco (Ligue 1, 9), and Arsenal FC (Premier League, 8).
