UK: O2 extends its naming rights agreement for the O2 Arena for ten years (until 2027, £125m)

O2 has extended its naming rights agreement for the O2 Arena for ten years (until 2027) with Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), the owner and operator of multi-use venue of up to 20,000 capacity in London (United Kingdom), announced the British mobile phone operator on 23/02/2017.

The agreement could amount to £125m in total (€148m as of 23/02/2017), or £12.5m per year (about €14.8m), compared to £6m per year (€7m) for the previous agreement, according to British media.

"Under the fresh agreement, O2 customers will be granted more early access to tickets for shows at the venue. O2 and AEG will also make joint investments to ensure customer spaces, arena access and in-venue experiences are of a high standard. As part of the deal, O2 will provide high-density Wi-Fi throughout the venue, as well as facilities to host more customers and their guests pre-show. O2 will also work to provide a more personalised in-arena experience for fans by installing new technology to track and analyse crowd movements," stated O2.
