Twitter: 12.39 million followers in total for the 20 Ligue 1 clubs (March 2017)

The 20 clubs in the 2016-17 Ligue 1 season have a cumulative 12.39 million followers on the social network Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/03/2017. Ligue 1 is ranked fourth and penultimate place in the European Top 5 leagues, behind LaLiga Santander, the Premier League, and the Serie A TIM, with 619,641 followers on average per club.

Paris Saint-Germain are the most followed the French club, with 4.29 million followers, up 118,745 (+2.8%) compared to early February 2017. Olympique de Marseille (2nd, 1.88 million), AS Monaco (3rd, 1.19 million), and Olympique Lyonnais (4th, 1.06 million) also have more than one million followers.

AS Saint-Étienne (5th, 516,677) and LOSC Lille (6th, 504,217) both surpassed the half million followers mark on their main Twitter accounts in February 2017.

At 7% En Avant de Guingamp (from 158,314 to 169,330) are the Ligue 1 club which recorded the highest percentage growth on Twitter in February 2017. The Brittany club is one of nine french clubs to have between 100,000 and 300,000 followers.
