Twitter: 15.22 million total followers for the 20 Serie A TIM clubs (March 2017)

The 20 clubs in the 2016-17 Serie A TIM have a total of 15.22 million followers on the social network Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/03/2017. The Serie A TIM is third in the European Top 5 leagues, behind LaLiga Santander and the Premier League, with 761,163 followers on average per club.

AC Milan are the most followed Italian club, with 4.47 million followers, up 145,867 (+3.4%) compared with early February 2017, making it the club which registered the most new followers. AC Milan increased its lead over Juventus (2nd, 4 million followers). With less than a half-million followers difference, the Italian league is where the gap between the two most followed clubs is the lowest.

SSC Napoli became, in February 2017, the fifth Italian club to exceed the one million followers mark on its main Twitter account. At 6.1%, (from 208,382 to 221,005), Cagliari Calcio are - for the second consecutive month - the Italian club which posted the best percentage increase on Twitter.
