Portugal: Portugal Telecom (Altice group) to enter capital of Sport TV by up to 25%

Portugal Telecom (owned by the Dutch holding group Altice) will enter, via its subsidiary Meo (mobile and fixed telephony, internet, and TV), into the capital of the Portuguese pay-TV group Sport TV, potentially up to 25%, announced the Portuguese telecom group on 24/02/2017.

Vodafone Portugal, for its part, will retain a 25% stake in the pay-TV group, and the same for the telecom group NOS and the Portuguese media company Global Media Group. "An agreement has already been signed in order to join the shareholding structure of Sport TV," Portugal Telecom had previously stated on 05/08/2016.

Vodafone Portugal had previously entered the capital of Sport TV, at 33.33%, in pay-TV group, equally sharing the sports pay-TV channel alongside NOS and Gobal Media Group, on 29/07/2016.
