Facebook: 45 million fans in total for the Ligue 20 clubs (March 2017)

The 20 clubs in the 2016-17 Ligue 1 season have a cumulative total of 45 million fans on the social network Facebook, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/03/2017. Ligue 1 is the least followed Top 5 European league on Facebook, with 2.25 million fans on average per club.

Paris Saint-Germain are the most followed French club with 27.3 million fans, an increase of 716,627 compared to early February 2017. PSG alone comprises 60% of the fans of Ligue 1 clubs; no other Top 5 club dominates its league by this margin on Facebook.

At 6.3%, (from 417,840 to 444,171), OGC Nice are the Ligue 1 which posted the best percentage growth on Facebook since February 2017. Three French clubs gained less than 1000 new fans in the month (SM Caen, SC Bastia, and Angers SCO).
