Facebook: 217,150,000 fans in total for the 20 LaLiga Santander clubs (March 2017)

The 20 clubs in the 2016-17 LaLiga Santander season have a cumulative total of 217,150,000 fans on the social network Facebook, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 03/01/2017. This total makes the LaLiga Santander the second most followed European Top 5 league on Facebook, behind the Premier League, with 10.85 million fans on average per club.

FC Barcelona are the most followed Spanish club, with 96.08 million fans, up 362,683 (+0.4%) compared to early of February 2016. The top team in Europe on Facebook, Barcelona are closely followed by Real Madrid CF (95.23 million fans, 0.9%), with the latter being European club which gained the most new fans (+854 815) since February 2017. FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF combine for 191,310,000 Facebook fans, or 88% of the total of all LaLiga Santander clubs, and more than the total of the 58 Serie A TIM, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1 clubs combined.
