Bundesliga: Umbro to succeed Nike as the kit supplier to Werder Bremen (2018-2023)

The American brand, of British origin, Umbro will succeed Nike as the equipment supplier to SV Werder Bremen (Bundesliga) from the 2018-19 season, the club announced on 07/03/2017.

This partnership, in the first level in the sponsorship hierarchy of the club, covers five seasons (2018-19 to 2022-23). It is estimated at €3.5m per season by the German media, base amount and equipment included.

Nike has been the kit supplier to Werder Bremen since the 2009-10 season. The American brand pays the club an estimated annual amount of €3m, according to German media. Nike is the most present equipment supplier in the Bundesliga in 2016-17, with six of the 18 clubs in the first division under contract.

• The agreement between SV Werder Bremen and Umbro was negotiated by the British sports marketing agency GLD Group, who holds the distribution rights to the Umbro brand in Germany, the UK, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, and Benelux, indicated the Bremen club on 07/03/2017.
