Ligue 1: Stéphane Martin replaces Jean-Louis Triaud as delegated president of Girondins de Bordeaux

Stéphane Martin (46 years old) has been appointed the delegated president of FC Girondins de Bordeaux (Ligue 1), on 09/03/2017. A member of the club's board of directors since June 2016, Martin succeeds Jean-Louis Triaud, who has held the presidency of the Bordeaux club since 1996.

"We have always wanted to anticipate, predict the future, and organise. So one of the reasons this change is to meet this objective. The second is to professionalise this office, which now requires a full-time job. We had an opportunity with a man who has convinced us, that seems to have the qualifications, and it is silly to wait, for the moment it seems like a good solution," said Jean-Louis Triaud (67 years old), who will now chair the club's board of directors.

The French television Groupe M6 has owned the Bordeaux club since 1999, and holds 99% of the club via its subsidiary M6 Foot. "It is Nicolas de Tavernost (president of Groupe M6) who took the initiative.
