France: DNCG financial report for the 2015-16 season of French professional football

"A return to break-even for French professional football, and higher total cumulative turnover of clubs to €2bn for the first time in history," stated the LFP, who presented the 2015-16 financial report of the DNCG, on 09/03/2017.

"After seven years of losses, the 2015-16 season marked a return to break-even of French professional football. The aggregate net profit of the 40 clubs in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 was €3m, against a cumulative deficit of €67m the previous season," stated the LFP.

"The examination of the detailed accounts shows a marked improvement in Ligue 1, with a cumulative net profit of €20.5m against a deficit of -€56m in 2014-15. In addition, 24 clubs (15 in Ligue 1 and 9 in Ligue 2) recorded a result of break-even or a net profit," added the LFP.
