Ligue 1: adidas will no longer be the kit supplier of Olympique de Marseille after 2017-18

adidas will no longer be the kit supplier to Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1) at the end of the 2017-18 season, according to the German brand, in a statement sent to several French media outlets on 13/03/2017. adidas, which equipped OM for the first time in 1974, has supplied the Marseille club uninterrupted since 1996-97.

"For several months, the brand has worked with the new management team for the renewal of the contract between the two entities for decades. Motivated to support the club in its new project and write with it a new stage in its history, the brand took note of the fact that it could not agree with the new leadership despite dynamic and ambitious proposals. Being the main financial partner of the club for many years, adidas has accompanied a valuable club in its heart, with professionalism, commitment, and success, both in legendary times, but also in the most delicate moments," stated adidas.
