LaLiga Santander: Atlético acquire land for Wanda Metropolitano, its stadium near Madrid (press)

Club Atlético de Madrid (Laliga Santander) have formally acquired the land for its future stadium, the Wanda Metropolitano (67,000 capacity), from the City of Madrid for €30m, according to multiple press reports on 13/03/2017. "Payment will be made in three annual installments, for a total amount, including interest, of €30,422,520," indicated the city of Madrid.

Additionally, the club also will pay for the work regarding access to the stadium, and the construction of a 4000 place parking complex for publich use, for a sum of €29.875m.

The construction cost of the enclosure, which is scheduled to open for the 2017-18 season is €195m. Wanda, Chinese conglomerate specialising in tourism, hospitality, and entertainment, acquired the naming rights to the new stadium of Atlético Madrid on 09/12/2016.
