Bundesliga: Borussia Dortmund to pay dividends to their shareholders for the first time

Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga, GER) have announced a € 250 million record turnover in 2012/13, which led the only traded German club to pay dividends to their shareholders. Borussia should publish their annual financial report on the 22/08/2013, German magazine Kicker announced on the 19/08/2013.

The 2012/13 Champions League runners-up received € 54.16m from UEFA for reaching the final, which added up to the €12m match day revenues generated by their six home games in the competition.

  • In 2011/12, Borussia Dortmund generated a € 215.2m revenue and a € 34.3m net profit.
  • BVB were close to bankruptcy in 2004/05.
  • The club has the largest number of season ticket holders in Germany (55,000).
  • The club that has the highest average attendance in Europe: 80,512 per home game in 2012/13.
