beIN Sports France: €600m to be injected by beIN entities, beIN Europe Ltd, a direct shareholder

beIN Media Group, the parent company of beIN Sports France, may have injected €600m into the French sports pay-TV on 28/12/2016, via two simultaneous capital increases, one of €500m and the other €100m, reported the French newspaper Liberation on 16/03/2017.

"The recapitalisation of the beIN Sports France company is not under the direct control of beIN Media Group, based in Doha (Qatar), but rather by beIN Europe Limited, based in London (United Kingdom) whose president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, is also president of Paris-Saint-Germain (Ligue 1). The sum of €500m, with the creation of 500 million shares at €1, was first supplied by beIN Media Group. The capital of beIN Sports France, €100m before the operation, was increased to €600m. This was reduced to zero in a second stage, via a complete capital reduction, and was eventually raised back to €100m via a cash contribution from the London entity, which thus, in fact, became the owner of beIN Sports France," reported Liberation.
