FIFA: 51 jobs to be eliminated by June 2017 at the World Football Museum in Zurich (SUI)

51 full-time positions, of 106 in total, will be eliminated by June 2017 at the FIFA World Football Museum in Zurich (WUI), announced Marc Caprez, the acting director of the facility, on 14/03/2017.

"This is mainly catering staff (a bistro and two bars) and mission which will be entrusted to external providers. Eight employees were also dismissed in January 2017 and several voluntary departures were not replaced," said Marc Caprez to the daily local newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung.

The museum currently has a deficit of CHF 25m (€23.3m). FIFA has set, at the end of 201,6 a working group chaired by Zvonimir Boban, the former Croatian international now deputy secretary general of FIFA in charge of football, "to review the activities of the museum and consider a new business model to ensure financial stability" (see below).
