The 2017 edition of the Trophée des Champions (French super cup) will be held at the Grand Stade de Tanger (45,000 capacity) in Tangier (Morocco), on Saturday 29/07/2017, announced the LFP on 17/03/2017. The Moroccan city last hosted the Trophée des Champions in 2011, with the victory of Olympique de Marseille over LOSC Lille (5-4).

"The 2017 Trophée des Champions will benefit, with the Grand Stade de Tanger, from a modern infrastructure and good weather. At one week before the beginning of the 2017-18 Ligue 1 season, the organisation of the Trophée des Champions in Tangier will also allow both participating clubs to avoid excessive jet lag," stated the French League.

The 2016 Trophée des Champions, played at the Wörthersee Stadion in Klagenfurt (Austria), was the first edition played in Europe since 2008. The seven previous Trophée des Champions took place in Montreal (CAN, 2009 and 2015), Radès (TUN , 2010), Tangier (MAR 2011), New York (USA, 2012), Libreville (GAB, 2013), and Beijing (CHN, 2014).
