Bundesliga: LG Electronics to become shirt sponsor of Bayer Leverkusen until 2015/16

South Korean company LG Electronics has become Bayer Leverkusen's (Bundesliga) shirt sponsor, the club announced on the 12/08/2013. Both parties are bound until the end of the 2015/16 season.

The annual amount of this partnership is estimated at € 5m. For the 2013/14 season, the amount is likely to be lower due to the late arrival of the new shirt sponsor. LG Electronics takes over solar panels U.S. manufacturer Sunpower, which paid € 6.5 m to be the main shirt sponsor in 2012/13. The amount to sponsor Bayer's shirt experienced a 23% decline in 2013/14.

Bone marrow donors association DKMS, has been temporarily occupying the front of the club's shirt, in the absence of any sponsorship contract from the first league match on the 10/08/2013. LG is expected to appear on Bayer Leverkusen's shirt during Bundesliga fixture against VfL Wolfsburg on the 14/09/2013.
