Algeria: Kheïreddine Zetchi succeeds Mohamed Raouraoua as president of the Football Federation

Kheïreddine Zetchi has been elected president of the Algerian Football Federation for four years (2017-2021), during the Elective General Assembly held at the Centre technique national de Sidi Moussa (near Algiers), on 20/03/2017.

The only candidate, Kheïreddine Zetchi (51 years old) won the votes of 64 of the 103 members present (62.1%). 35 voted against the new president and four abstained. The CEO of Algerian company Faïenceries, the national leader in the ceramics market, Zetchi is also the chairman of Paradou Athletic Club (Algerian 2^nd division), the football team he founded in 1994.

Kheïreddine Zetchi succeeds Mohamed Raouraoua, president of the FAF from 2001 to 2006 and again from 2009 to 2017. "I come in unifying the football family. I will not exclude any actor in football who works to develop all of Algerian football. My project involves the construction of training centres throughout the national territory, the appointment of a new national team manager as soon as possible, and the promotion of local football," said the new president after his election.
