LaLiga Santander: "Social networks are essential to get closer to our fans" (Javier Tebas)

"We are the sports league leader in terms of audience on social networks. We must succeed in finding new fans through digital strategies. The attention to social networks is essential to get closer to them (the fans). In all our projects, we know that this (social networks) is a key driver of growth and a strategic element for the value of broadcasting rights. The goal (of LaLiga) is to be the global benchmark (for football leagues)," said Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, at Sportel America 2017 in Miami (Florida, USA) on 16/03/2017.

Javier Tebas emphasised the importance of establishing a digital strategy using business intelligence (gathering of business data to enable a decision maker to have an overview of the entire activities of a sector), big data, and the "LaLiga Global Network" programme in which 60 young Spaniards are responsible for developing the value and presence of LaLiga in strategic countries considered.
