2014 World Cup: "very confident about how the project is progressing" (Jerome Valcke, FIFA)

"I am very confident about how the project is progressing," said Jerome Valcke, FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) secretary general, after a meeting with the Local Organizing Committee of the 2014 World Cup in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), on the 22/08/2013.

"We discussed what needs to be done at the World Cup stadiums and we analysed what needs to be revised as a result of our experience at the Confederations Cup, said FIFA secretary general. We spoke about transport during the World Cup, which is extremely important to the success of the competition. In particular we examined what is needed in terms of air travel, which must provide a good service and offer more flights between cities during the tournament," he added.

With this, Jérôme Valcke concluded his first visit to Brazil since the Confederations Cup (from the 15 to the 30/06/2013), held from 15 to 30/06/2013. His next visit is scheduled for October 2013.
