eSports: fast food chain KFC is launching recruitment tournaments to create its e-Football Team

The fast food chain KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) will select four players for its new "e-Football Team", an eSports team for the video game FIFA 17 (Xbox One), announced on 15/03/2017. The four players will be €300 per month for one year.

KFC is organising three online tournaments (the first on 22/03, and the next two on 05 and 20/04/2017) to pre-select six players. Four other players will be selected if they can beat the eSports ambassador of KFC, Cod Jordan. A competition day with the 10 finalists will be held to choose the four that will be sponsored by the fast food chain during 2017. The players will be managed by Abdoulaye Sarr, an eSports specialist.

KFC has already organised e-Football Cup tournament for FIFA 16 on Xbox One

  • KFC, in association with Xbox, created the KFC e-Football Cup, an eSports tournament for the FIFA 16 game on Xbox One, with a grand finale involving 16 players at the premises of "melty eSport Club" in Paris (FRA).
