Premier League: agreement for purchase of land and the financing of the new stadium of Everton FC

Everton FC (Premier League) and the City of Liverpool have signed an agreement for an "innovative funding model that will support the ambition of the club to build a new stadium" on the waterfront, north of the city, at Bramley Moore Dock, said the club on 23/03/2017. Everton also reached an agreement for the purchase of land with Peel Holdings, the current owner.

For now, no model exists and no construction date is set. The construction cost of the enclosure to replace Goodison Park (40,000 capacity) is expected to exceed £300m (about €345m) and will be fully funded by the club, said Everton.

"Clearly, it is vital we have clarity on cost and we have to recognise that the stadium will be significantly more expensive at Bramley Moore Dock. To get that certainty, and ensure the stadium is affordable, we need to confirm stadium design, capacity and configuration. And to do that, we need to talk to fans, partners and all stakeholders in the project. We’re committing to that consultation," said Robert Elstone, the chief executive of Everton.
