CAF: resignation of secretary general Hicham El Amrani (MAR), Essam Ahmed (EGY) interim in post

Ahmad Ahmad (MAD), the new president of the Confederation of African Football since 16/03/2017, "announced that he had accepted the resignation of secretary general Hicham El Amrani (MOR, in office since 2011). Essam Ahmed (EGY), the deputy secretary general of the CAF has been promoted until further notice," the African Confederation announced on 26/03/2017.

Ahmad Ahmad (Madagascar), the new CAF president elected on 16/03/2017, "presented himself to the CAF staff, at the headquarters of the proceedings in Cairo (Egypt), on 26/03/2017, along with two members of his cabinet, his communications adviser, Hedi Hamel, and his legal counsel, Ludovic Christian Lomotsy," said the African Confederation, on 26/03/2017.

Ahmad Ahmad became president of CAF by defeating Issa Hayatou (CMR), who held this position since 1988, 34 votes to 20 on 16/03/2017.
