Malaysia: Lim Teong Kim appointed project director of the National Football Development Programme

Lim Teong Kim has been appointed director of the NFDP (National Football Development Programme) in Malaysia by Khairy Jamaluddin, Malaysian Minister of Youth and Sports, on the 21/08/2013. He will officially take his position in November 2013, until 2018. Former Malaysian striker, Lim Teong Kim has coached the U19 team of Bayern Munich from 2001 to the 30/06/2012.

"We believe Teong Kim's football capability and experience will assist the government through KBS to set the stage for improving the national football development programme in future, " said Khairy Jamaluddin, on the 21/08/2013.

"We have good young talents players. I'm a person who loves a challenge, I'll share all my knowledge with the players. We need more than five years to produce talented young players for future football," said Lim Teong Kim on the 21/08/2013.

The NFDP was initiated by the Malaysian Ministry of Youth and Sports, the NSC (National Sports Council), the FAM (Federation of Malaysian Football) and the Malaysian Ministry of Education. The program runs until 2019, with the main objective of qualifying the…
