Facebook: 242,340,000 fans in total for the 20 Premier League clubs (April 2017)

The 20 clubs in the 2016-17 Premier League season have a cumulative 242.34 million fans on the social network Facebook, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/04/2017. This total makes the Premier League the most popular European league on Facebook, with 12.11 million fans on average per club.

Manchester United are the most followed English club, with 73.03 million Facebook fans. The club drew 298,554 new fans (+0.4%) in March 2017, a month in which rivals Manchester City were the Premier League club to draw the most new fans (466,607, +2%). Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City together account for 87% of all the fans of Premier League clubs on Facebook.

15 clubs of the English top division count more than one million fans, a record in the Top 5 leagues. The 20 Premier League clubs all, individually, have more than 300,000 fans.
