UEFA: election of eight members to the ExCo, Karl-Erik Nilsson (SWE) named first vice-president

The 41st UEFA Congress elected eight members to the Executive Committee for the 2017-2021 period, including six new members, in Helsinki (FIN) on 05/04/2017. The two re-elected members are England's David Gill (40 votes out of 55) and the Dutchman Michael van Praag (36 votes).

The six new members are:
• Karl-Erik Nilsson, Sweden (50 votes)
• John Delaney, Republic of Ireland (48 votes)
• Michele Uva, Italy (46 votes)
• Zbigniew Boniek, Poland (45 votes)
• Reinhard Grindel, Germany (44 votes)
• Yardımcı Servet, Turkey (34 votes)

Not elected: Armand Duka (Albania, 25 votes), Elkhan Mammadov (Azerbaijan, 24 votes), and Kieran O'Connor (Wales, 11 votes). Kairat Boranbayev (Kazahkstan) withdrew his candidacy before the election.

The Swede Karl-Erik Nilsson, president of the Swedish Football Federation since March 2012, has been appointed (by the Executive Committee) as the first vice-president of UEFA.
