Twitter: 10.08 million followers in total for the 18 Bundesliga clubs (April 2017)

The 18 clubs in the 2016-17 Bundesliga season have a cumulative 10.08 million followers on the social network Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/04/2017. The Bundesliga - which exceeded 10 million followers in March 2017 - is the least followed European Top 5 league on Twitter, with 560,355 followers on average per club.

Bayern Munich are the most popular German club on Twitter, with 3.44 million followers, an increase of 78,129 ( 2.3%) compared to the beginning of March 2017. The Bundesliga is the only Top 5 league where no club has over 4 million followers. Bayern, Borussia Dortmund (2nd, 2.58 million), and FC Schalke 04 (3rd, 515,062) together comprise 6.54 million followers, or 65% of the total of all 18 Bundesliga clubs.

At 6%, (from 87,492 to 92,736), RB Leipzig are the Bundesliga club which has registered the highest percentage growth on Twitter in March 2017, but the club remains one of three least followed German clubs, with less than 100,000 followers.
