The Chinese multinational conglomerate Suning could acquire the broadcasting rights, valid for China, to the Bundesliga for the 2018-2023 period, according to multiple German media outlets on 03/04/2017.

The amount of the agreement with DFL Sports Enterprises, reported to have been presented to the clubs of the first two German divisions on 28/03/2017, would be $250m (€235m) in total. The Chinese internet services company Tencent currently broadcasts, on its digital and mobile platforms, six games per matchday of the Bundesliga over the 2015-2018 period, with these rights acquired on 12/08/2015.

The agreement with Suning should be formally presented in May 2017. The matches would likely be broadcast on PPTV, the internet streaming and mobile platform of the Suning group. PPTV acquired the broadcasting rights, valid for China, to the Premier League and LaLiga Santander, and Suning would pay approximately the same amount to broadcast the Spanish and German leagues, nearly $50m (about €47m) per season (see below).
