City Football Group: acquisition of a club in Uruguay and partnership with another in Venezuela

"The Group can confirm the acquisition of Uruguayan football club, Club Atletico Torque (Montevideo, URU)," announced City Football Group, the parent company of Manchester City FC (Premier League) on 05/04/2017. The group wants to "invest in Uruguayan football, not only in terms of infrastructure at the club, but also in coaching, executive leadership, youth academy and the senior playing squad," stated CFG via the Manchester City website.

City Football Group also announced, on the Manchester City website, a collaboration agreement with Atletico Venezuela, which plays in the Venezuelan Primera Division. The agreement provides for an exchange in scouting methods and sharing of data between the two clubs. Manchester City will also provide technical training, notably including courses at the training centre in Manchester (ENG).
