UEFA: €4.58bn turnover, 41.8% related to Euro 2016 (€1.91bn) in 2015-16

UEFA posted a turnover of €4,579.8m during the 2015-16 season (01/07/2015 to 30/06/2016), more than double that of the 2014-15 season (€2,099.4m), indicated the European confederation in its 2015-16 financial report, approved by the 41st Congress of UEFA in Helsinki (FIN) on 05/04/2017. "Of the total revenue, 70% comes from TV rights and 20% of commercial rights," said UEFA. Excluding Euro 2016, the turnover of the UEFA increased by 27% (€2,663.8m).

Euro 2016, the first edition of the final tournament with 24 teams (compared to 16 previously, and 51 games instead of 31), allowed UEFA to realise a revenue €1,916m. The total revenue is 38% higher than that of Euro 2012 (€1,390.9m) in Poland and Ukraine, and about 42% higher than for Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland (€1,350m). The TV rights to Euro 2016 represent 53.5% of its total revenue (see below).
