2018 World Cup in Russia, the State will spend €2.3bn to build or renovate seven stadiums

Russian government will spend €2.3bn (100bn rubles) to build or renovate seven stadiums for the 2018 World Cup, corroborating sources announced on the 23/08/2013. A total of 12 stadiums will host matches during the competition.

The Government has appointed public company "Sports Engineering" to build new stadiums in Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saransk, Kaliningrad, Rostov-on-Don, and to rebuid Ekaterinburg's stadium.

The estimated budget for the organization of the 2018 World Cup in Russia is 21 billion euros, Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko said on the 11/06/2013. In addition to the stadiums, investments are planned in the construction of airports and hotels, as well as in the development of road infrastructure.
