DFL: Robert Klein named chief commercial officer of Bundesliga International GmbH as of 01/05/2017

Robert Klein, 47 years old, has been appointed the chief commercial officer of Bundesliga International GmbH, the new international subsidiary of the DFL, announced the latter on 11/04/2017. He will formally take office on 01/05/2017. Klein will be responsible for sales and marketing activities, and be under the authority of Jörg Daubitzer, CEO of DFL Sports Enterprises, who will retain his chief executive position in the new entity, Bundesliga International GmbH, which will be operational from 01/07/2017 (see below).

Before joining the DFL, Robert Klein was previously the head of global rights for Red Bull Media House GmbH (Salzburg, AUT), where he was responsible for the acquisition and sales of global sports and cultural assets held by the energy drink manufacturer Red Bull. He was also involved in the marketing of sports events held by the Austrian group. Klein was also executive director at the digital content agency International Sports Multimedia from 2005 to 2009, and previously worked at UEFA between 1999 and 2005, where he was a member of the team which launched the UEFA…
