FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) - Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander), 1-2), the first leg quarter-final match of the 2016-17 Champions League, drew 9.6 million viewers on average in Germany on the public channel ZDF, on Wednesday, 12/04/2017 (kick-off at 20:45 CET).

This figure represented a 30.3% audience share, and allowed the public broadcaster to achieve the best performance of the day in the German TV market. This is an audience record in the Champions League for ZDF during the 2016-17 season, and the best audience of the channel since the return leg Round of 16 match of the 2015-16 Champions League, FC Bayern Munich - Juventus (4-2 a.e.t, Bayern advanced 6-4 on aggregate), which drew 9.78 million viewers on ZDF on 16/03/2016 (kick-off at 20:45). Audience share: 34.1%.

In Spain, the Bayern - Real game was broadcast on a pay-TV channel of beIN Sports, which 1.477 million viewers on average. Audience share: 11.8%.
