"It's scandalous, appalling, and sad. There are no words to describe what happened, it's beyond imaginable," said Nathalie Boy de la Tour, president of the French Professional Football League, on 17/04/2017, the day after the violent incidents at the Stade Armand-Cesari in Furiani, Corsica (FRA), which forced the abandonment of the SC Bastia-Olympique Lyonnais game at half-time (Matchday 33 of Ligue 1) on 16/04/2017.

"There is obviously a security problem in Bastia that gives a horrible image of our football. Professional football does not deserve this. Fans do not attack players, this have never happened in the history of the Ligue 1," added Nathalie Boy de la Tour in the newspaper Le Parisien on 17/04/2017.

Altercations between Bastia fans and the players of Lyon occurred during the pre-game the warm-up and then again at half-time of the match, which caused the final abadonment of the game.
