Ajax: shirt sponsor Ziggo expands its partnership to the eSports section until 2018 (€0.3m / year)

Ziggo, a Dutch cable-TV operator, has expanded its partnership with AFC Ajax (Eredivisie), and will become the main sponsor of the club's eSports section, announced on 10/04/2017. The contract, in the first level in the sponsorship hierarchy of the eSports section, runs over a period of one and a half years, until the end of 2018, "with an additional one year option", specified the club. The annual amount is €300,000, according to Dutch media.

As part of the partnership with the eSports section of the Amsterdam club, Ziggo obtains visibility on the shirt and the digital platforms of this specialised team. Ziggo and the club will focus on "developing new concepts, live streams and fan activities in the field of eSports," the club said.

Ziggo has been the main shirt sponsor of AFC Ajax since 01/01/2015. The contract covers a period of four and a half years, until the end of the 2018-19 season, for an estimated annual amount of €10m.
