France: Conforama (distribution) acquires the title naming rights to Ligue 1 (2017-2020)

Conforama, a French group specialising in the distribution of furniture, home decoration, household appliances, and electronics, has acquired the title naming rights to Ligue 1, announced the LFP on 20/04/2017. The French football first division will be called the "Ligue 1 Conforama" from the 2017-18 season.

The contract is for three seasons (2017-2020). The annual amount is estimated at less than €10m, according to multiple French media outlets. "Thanks to this agreement, the Professional Football League is very proud to be able to count among its partners a great French brand present throughout the territory," stated the French League on 20/04/2017.

The French top division was formally called the "Ligue 1 Orange", via a title naming rights contract with the French telecommunications group Orange from 2002 to 2008.
