FIFA: launch of the tender process for TV rights in aircraft and ships (2017-2019)

FIFA has launched the tender process for international broadcast rights for in-flight on airplanes and on-board for boats and ships for the 2017 Confederations Cup (Russia), the 2018 World Cup (Russia), and the 2-19 Women's World Cup 2019 (France), stated the body on 19/04/2017. "Companies wishing to submit a tender should contact FIFA TV via Inflight-Inship@fifa.org for further details," said the international federation.

"In-flight rights allow for audiovisual coverage of the above-mentioned events on a live and/or delayed basis for reception by means of any in-flight entertainment system. In-ship rights allow for audiovisual coverage of the above-mentioned events on a live and/or delayed basis for reception aboard cruise ships in international waters," stated FIFA.

"IMG Media was the holder of the broadcasting rights aboard planes and boats for the 2014 World Cup 2014 (Brazil) worldwide, except for Japan where Dentsu held some of the rights.
