Bundesliga: Derbystar to succeed adidas as official ball supplier (2018-2022)

Derbystar, the German manufacturer of balls and sports textiles belonging to the Dutch group Deventrade, will succeed adidas as official ball supplier to the Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga, the DFL announced on 24/04/2017. This partnership takes effect from 2018-19, and extends over four seasons, until the end of the 2021-22 fiscal year. adidas has been the official ball supplier to the first two German divisions since the 2010-11 season.

"As long ago as the 1970-71 season, Derbystar was represented in the Bundesliga through numerous partnerships with different clubs. In the 1979-80 season, Derbystar balls were used in all 306 matches played in the Bundesliga," said the German league on 24/04/2017.

Derbystar is also the official ball supplier to the Eredivisie (2006-2019) and the Jupiler League (Eerste Divisie, Dutch second division).
