Media: Balls Channel to broadcast the Premier League in the Philippines until 2016

Sports pay-TV channel Balls Channel has acquired the rights to broadcast the English Premier League in the Philippines, the company announced on its Twitter account on the 17/08/2013.

The channel, owned by Philippine broadcaster ABS-CBN announced that the rights cover seasons "2013-14 and beyond." North American website Sportspromedia.com indicates that the contract runs until 2015-16.

Philippine channel, available by cable (on SkyCable and Destiny) will air between two and four live fixtures of the English Championship each week, as well as pre-matches and highlights of all the games.

Balls Channel has made this acquisition from media and marketing rights agency MP & Silva, which acquired the distribution rights to the Premier League in the Philippines for the 2013-2016 period, on the 02/07/2013.
