Twitter: 10.45 million followers in total for the 18 Bundesliga clubs (May 2017)

The 18 clubs in the 2016-17 Bundesliga season have a cumulative 10.45 million followers on the social network Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/05/2017. The Bundesliga - which surpassed 10 million followers in March 2017 - is the least followed European Top 5 league on Twitter, with 580,562 followers on average per club.

Bayern Munich remain the most popular German club on Twitter, with 3.55 million subscribers, an increase of 106,456 (+3.1%) compared to the beginning of April 2017. The Bundesliga is the only Top 5 league in which no club has more than 4 million followers.

Fourteen Bundesliga teams showing an increase of at least 3% in their number of followers in April. No other European Top 5 league did as well in the past month. RB Leipzig, with 6.6% (from 92,736 to 98,812 followers), are the Bundesliga club which posted the best percentage growth on Twitter in April 2017. Leipzig are expected to become the 16th German club in exceed 100,000 followers in May 2017.
