Twitter: 12.95 million followers in total for the 20 Ligue 1 clubs (May 2017)

The 20 clubs in the 2016-17 Ligue 1 season have a cumulative 12.95 million followers on the social network Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/05/2017. Ligue 1 ranks fourth among the European Top 5 leagues, behind LaLiga Santander, the Premier League, and the Serie A TIM, with an average of 632,833 followers per club.

Paris Saint-Germain remain the most followed French club on Twitter, with 4.47 million followers, up 89.484 (+2%) compared to the beginning of April 2017. Olympique de Marseille (2^nd, 1.96 million), AS Monaco (3^rd, 1.43 million), and Olympique Lyonnais (4^th, 1.11 million) also have more than one million Twitter followers.

At 5.3% (from 1.36 million to 1.43 million followers), AS Monaco are the Ligue 1 club which posted the best percentage on Twitter in April 2017.

Dijon FCO (62,621 followers), Angers SCO (70,931), and AS Nancy-Lorraine (72,521) are the three French clubs with fewer than 100,000 subscribers. These three clubs also have the lowest number of new followers in April 2017.
