FIFA: Qatari airline Qatar Airways becomes an official partner until 2022

The Qatari airline Qatar Airways has become a "FIFA Partner", the highest level in the sponsorship structure of the international federation, for a five-year term (including the 2022 World Cup) on 07/05/2017. The amount of the partnership has not been revealed, but it is "a major sponsorship agreement globally and the most important in the history of Qatar Airways", said the airline, which is currently the main shirt sponsor of FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) for an amount of €33.5m in 2016-17.

As part of this partnership, Qatar Airways becomes an official partner of all FIFA competitions held until 2022, including the 2017 Confederations Cup, the 2018 World Cup (Russia), the 2022 World Cup (Qatar), the FIFA Club World Cup, and the 2019 Women's World Cup (France). At each of these competitions, the Qatari airline will benefit from marketing rights, brand licenses, and visibility on the stadium signage and on all of FIFA's communication platforms.
