Europa League: SFR Group acquires 2018-2021 TV rights in France, according to L'Equipe

The French telecommunications group SFR Group has made the best bid to obtain the broadcast rights to the Europa League, in France, for the 2018-2021 period, reported the French sports daily L'Equipe on 05/05/2017. The games would be broadcast on its SFR Sport pay-TV channels.

UEFA launched the tender for bids for the 2018-2021 media rights, in France, to the Champions League and the Europa League on 29/03/2017. Candidates were required to submit their bids no later than 03/05/2017.

The free-TV group M6 and the pay-TV group beIN Sports France were awarded the TV rights to the Europa League, in France, for 2015-2018 on 22/04/2014. These rights were shared in an identical manner to those of the 2012-2015 cycle.

  • UEFA Union of European Football Associations  has launched a second round of bidding, in France, for the 2018-2021 TV rights to the Champions League. The new bids were expected on Friday, 05/05/2017, according to L'Equipe.
    • This second round of bidding does not include the Europa League.
