Facebook: 243.53 million fans in total for the 20 Premier League clubs (May 2017)

The 20 clubs in the 2016-17 Premier League season have a cumulative total of 243.53 million fans on the social network Facebook, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/05/2017. This total makes the Premier League the most popular European Top 5 on Facebook, with an average of 12.17 million fans per club.

Manchester United are the most followed English club, with 73.3 million Facebook fans. Man United gained 266,968 new fans (+0.4%) in April 2017, a month during which Manchester City was the Premier League club to draw the most new fans (623,757, +2.6%).

Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City together account for 87% of the total number of Facebook fans of Premier League clubs. 15 English clubs of the English top division have more than one million fans, a top mark of the Top 5 leagues. No Premier League club has fewer than 300,000 fans.
