Crowdfunding: Hertha BSC supporters invest €1.5m to renovate its infrastructure

Hertha BSC (Bundesliga) have set up a bond issue with its supporters to raise €1.5m from 07/05/2017 onwards. The operation, organised via the Kapilendo.de financing platform, which took place in two phases:
• Club members had privileged access to the platform, in which they raised €1m in 9 minutes and 12 seconds.
• The general public was then able to participate in raising an additional €500,000 from 09/05/17.

Potential investors can register on the Kapilendo website, and participate in the bond issue for an amount between €100 and a maximum of €10,000. They will receive interest annually at a fixed rate of 4% for three years.

The purpose of the bond issue is to develop the infrastructure of the training centre, including the renovation of two synthetic fields and the construction of a new building for medical care. The club also wants to reinforce its grade school and education support with its young players.
