40,000 Gareth Bale shirts, Tottenham Hotspur (Premier League ANG) midfielder, transferred to Real Madrid (Liga ESP) on the 02/09/2013, will be sold in the world during the 2013/14 season, according to experts interviewed by Spanish newspaper AS, on the 03/09/2013.

The shirt has been available in the official Real Madrid shop since the 02/09/2013, for €85.01 for the standard model and €99.99 for the long sleeve version. "Due to a computer bug", Madrid Bale shirts had been sold on the 22/08/2013, the club announced.

Gareth Bale does not appear in the top ten of players who have sold the most shirts in the 2012/13 Premier League season, says AS. "Gareth is an asset to use. At the global level, he is a sleeping giant. It is not out of the Premier League yet. The public knows little about him outside of football. This is an incredible advertising opportunity. The difference between Real Madrid's public and Tottenham's is astronomical," said Steve Martin, director of M&C Saatchi Sport and Entertainment, in the Daily Mail, before the transfer of the Welsh player.
