Germany: Sport1 acquires TV rights to the Confederations Cup and Euro U-21 in 2017

Sport1, a free-TV and pay-TV group in Germany, has acquired, via sublicense from the media rights and marketing agency SportA (owned by the public TV groups ARD and ZDF), the broadcasting rights to the 2017 Confederations Cup and the 2017 European U-21 championship (16-30/06/2017 in Poland), on 10/05/2017.

Sport1 will broadcast three matches of the 2017 Confederations Cup. The first of which will be the Portugal - Mexico game on Sunday, 18/06/2017 (kick-off at 17:00 CET).

Sport1 will broadcast the group stage matches of the 2017 Euro U-21 Championship, those not involving the German team (Group C), one semi-final and the final (Friday 30/06/2017, kick-off at 20:45 CET) if the German team does not advance that far.

Sport1 also obtained the broadcasting rights to the match summaries of the two competitions, which will be accessible on its website (sport1.de) and its mobile applications.
