Premier League: SportPesa (sports betting) to become main shirt sponsor of Everton FC from (2017-22)

The Kenyan sports betting operator SportPesa has become the main partner and main shirt sponsor of Everton FC (Premier League), on 15/05/2017. This partnership, in the first level of the club's sponsorship hierarchy, will take effect from 2017-18 and extend until the end of 2021-22 season, which is a duration of five seasons.

SportPesa will succeed the Thai beer brand Chang, the main partner and shirt sponsor of the Liverpool-based club since the 2004-05 season. The annual amount is estimated at £5.3m (€6.2m as of 15/05/2017) for 2016-17.

The financial details of the agreement between SportPesa and Everton were not disclosed, but "this is the most lucrative contract in our history," said the English club. It is valued by British media at £48m (€56.4m) over five years, or £9.6m (€11.3m) per season.

In the Premier League, SportPesa is also the main shirt sponsor of Hull City AFC, and the official betting partner of Arsenal FC and Southampton FC.
